Increasing Intolerency in India-Cause of Brain Drain???

Some recent events have made me no no no....forced me to write this article. It all started out with the Richard Gere and Shilpa Shetty stage roamance. They were addressing the aids awareness show, when Gere aparently apparently became horny and started kissing shilpa(that too in a aids awareness prog. which was attended by truck drivers). This incident got huge media attention due to which there were large number of protests and cases being filed against them. You can understand this........but after this incident another one took place which really bothered me a lot.

In an arts college in Baroda, Gujrath, examinations were being held. Various paintings of students were on display. Suddenly people appeared from nowhere and started vandalising the portraits and one of the student was arrested. He was arrested because......he painted nude women and some of his portraits allegedly dishonored hinduism. I dont get it. You go to any old Hinu temple in India and first thing you notice is the sculptures of gods and godesses in various sexual positions. In fact it was our forefathers who gave this world the only sexual bible KAMASUTHRA. And now a student is being arrested for drawing nude women. What happened to the freedom of expression. Not only this student...but also the most famous painter of India M.F Hussein is in hiding. He fears that he might be assasinated for his work in which he has depicted a nude hindu godess. As always, its the politicians who carry on these attacks, stating such works to be anti-cultural.

Have they forgotten to look into our history. Have they never visited a temple. Or have'nt they ever seen a naked women let alone fuck her. Then why such acts of vandalism. Not only in this issue.....they also oppose valentines day, mcdonalds (for selling beef)(often vandalising). Acts such as these wipe out creativity of young minds. They become scared to express themselves. Hence look for alternative locations......hence the brain drain. We loose out talented minds because of our narrow minded politicians. I have been deeply effected by these events and also has lost faith on my countries politicians. This is the case with numerous young people who want make it big abroad...somewhere were their creativity and thinking is not bound.
